Andy Burton is a typical hands-on landlord who has been buying and renting out property for over 30 years whilst also having a ‘proper day job’. Initially starting with terrace houses and renting to the student market his portfolio now includes detached family houses, one bedroom flats and two bedroom city centre apartments. Whilst he still manages many properties himself in recent years he has involved the services of letting agents.

 

Andy set up and ran a Landlords Association in the Midlands for a number of years before becoming area representative for the RLA. He has been a Director of the RLA since March 2007.

As a representative of the RLA Andy has worked with a Consortium of 15 Councils on the introduction of Landlord Accreditation in the West Midlands and was also involved in the steering group for an Accreditation Scheme in the East Midlands.
